Jon and Lauren met in a bar. Relatively old school for this generation.

Technically, they had met a few weeks prior during a first thursday concert, but as Lauren likes to recall, Jon was giving off real Mr. Darcy energy and didn’t seem remotely interested in her. That was not the case a week or so later at Faddensonnen, a local beer garden in Charles North, when they met again. They both ended up on the same side of the table and as the things they had in common started to grow (art, movies, friends, upstate New York) they both felt the beginnings of a spark.

Well Lauren did, she reached out to a close mutual friend, Allison Fisher to as if Jon was single and her sage advice was “I think he is, but he is so shy if you like him you should probably ask him out!”. Lauren did and the next tuesday they had coffee together at Good Neighbor.

Although this is probably not recommended in any dating advice column, on their second date Jon met every close friend Lauren had as they were all visiting for some reason at the same time in November. Kaitlin and Larry from Hawaii, Christina Potis from New York, the regular crew in Baltimore all came together and put Jon through the gauntlet.

They realized that night they both loved the McElroy brothers and both were without a friend to attend the live show later that week. Their relationship was a lot like a steam train, a slow but steady push in the right direction and as it gained speed, the momentum was unstoppable.

Lauren and Jon looked back on the series of events that led to this wedding and not only is the timeline shocking for its speed, its so chocked full of events that they organized and hosted it’s enough to send introverts screaming for cover.

The 100 Heads Society, a local group of artists that meet to paint portraits from life. They have hosted international artists, designed a signet ring that you recieve after completing 100. Jon already has his, Lauren will make it to 100 just before the wedding this year!

Winning the 2025 Bike Party halloween competition as Marie Antoinette and a giant piece of cake after years of trying to make it to the finalists.

The Flower Rat bike race, Lauren doesn’t really do much until the race day but then she is in the trenches.

The family reunion when we found out all of the O'Haras love volleyball and karaoke.
